The Safety of Laser Rangefinders

As we all know, laser rangefinder uses laser as the main working material. At present, the materials of hand-held Laser Rangefinder on the market are mainly as follows: semiconductor laser with working wavelength of 905 nm and 1540 nm, and YAG laser with working wavelength of 1064 nm. Internationally, there is a unified classification and uniform safety warning signs for lasers. The lasers are divided into four categories (Class1 to Class4). Class I laser is safe for humans, Class II laser has lighter damage for people, and Class III and Class laser are seriously harmful to people. So special care should be taken when using it to avoid direct exposure to the human eye.

Laser rangefinder, using the laser to enter the pulse, and the laser beam is a very concentrated monochromatic source of light, so do not point to eyes or observe the smooth reflective surface when using a laser telescope or distance meter to avoid harm. Therefore, the user must follow the instructions in the safety operating specifications. When measuring outdoors, do not direct point to the sun in case burnning the instrument's photosensitive elements.

JRTMFG's products mainly use Class I and Class II lasers as working material, which are much safer than other types of lasers. So you can choose our laser rangefinders with confidence!
